Oh wait, it’s two girls!
That’s right, Brownie finally kidded very early yesterday morning, and shocker of shockers, she had twin girls!
I’m completely surprised (and thrilled) – I was sure she’d at least have one boy. In fact, I was expecting to see something entirely different when I picked up each girl to have a little look-see underneath, so much so, that I had to look twice just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
We seem to be cursed for hatching out, kidding, etc more boys than anything else. We’ve never had twins born on the farm with both being of the female persuasion before. Until now 🙂 And drumroll, their names are. . . Clara and Luna. In case you’re wondering, Clara’s on the right and Luna is on the left. They’re all legs and not much else right now, but we’re already in love with them 🙂
Meanwhile, Sammy and Leon are not impressed.
Doesn’t that look say it all? But I have a feeling he’ll love the new girls one day soon 😉
And of course, Myrtle only had one thing to say about the new additions:
Myrtle did not cotton to motherhood when it was her turn a couple years ago. She likes being footloose and fancy free a little too much. I swear she almost danced a jig when little Mose was weaned.
